You could be forgiven for thinking you’ve accidentally subscribed to the NME, but Madonna graces the ACQ Magazine August cover due to our feature on music industry investment. We spoke to some of the biggest music business investors, including those behind private equity and pension funds and Simon Cowell’s former business partner among others to find out if the music business remains a healthy place as it battles against piracy and the current financial climate.

Also this month, we look at the Bribery Act, which came in to force on 1 July, its possible affects on M&A/private equity and how not to fall foul of the new law with help from those who have been closely scrutinising the Act. We also speak to the latest of our Young Guns, a 31-year-old lead advisor from Birmingham.

China, which some believe will be the next economic superpower following the US’ credit downgrade, is the subject of our latest foreign investment feature and we introduce the new ‘ACQ Examines’ series with the spotlight on invoice finance and it’s increasing popularity among an expanding array of companies.
