It has been revealed that Aeon, the Japanese retail group, is to bid for French company Carrefour’s operations in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.
Aeon currently operates 27 of the stores in Malaysia and 11 in Thailand, and the potential acquirement could increase its presence threefold.
Aeon is currently being advised by Nomura on the matter but the company is not currently willing to speak publically about the offer, Reuters said.
